Herbert W. Armstrong College is a privately supported co-educational institution offering two- and four-year scholastic curricula in theology, liberal arts and applied arts and sciences. Herbert W. Armstrong College was founded in 2001 on a 170-acre campus in north Edmond, Oklahoma.
With thousands of colleges and universities teaching how one might earn a living, Herbert W. Armstrong College focuses on teaching the skills, concepts and values that lead to success not only in the workplace, but also in life. The Herbert W. Armstrong College educational program helps prepare young men and women how to live in worthwhile service to God and humanity.
The curricula and activities at Herbert W. Armstrong College are geared toward helping students achieve their God-given potential. The college strives to develop every facet of one’s being: mental, physical, emotional, psychological and—most importantly—spiritual. That is why the hwac experience is based entirely upon the Bible. The Word of God is the foundation of all knowledge. Thus, the Bible is used as the foundation of hwac’s liberal arts education.
In addition to theology, hwac includes classes in history, business, classic literature, language, communications, social sciences, natural sciences, mathematics, music and physical education.
The Herbert W. Armstrong College experience adds a wide range of pursuits to its academics. Dances, concerts, athletics, outreach programs, club meetings, campouts, cultural events and other activities all form an essential part of college life. The college campus, in addition to possessing modern academic and athletic facilities, is home to the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation renowned concert series.
Students participate in the work-study program, assisting the college and the church in a variety of capacities while paying off his or her expenses at the same time. The program enables students to not only graduate debt-free, but also learn practical skills and gain valuable job experience, whether they are working in Web development, graphic design, accounting, food services, agriculture or another capacity. Students also assist in producing an annual pictorial: the Envoy.
hwac has a number of international students and faculty members, adding a global cultural flair to student life and enhancing the overall educational experience.
Through a wide range of academic, cultural, social, and athletic activities, hwac students experience the missing dimension in higher learning: “education with vision.”
