OKLAHOMA—The small Ardmore congregation held its first garage sale fundraiser in July. Members gathered as many items as they could and worked to set everything up for the three-day sale on July 18, 19 and 21 at the home of members Thurman and Desireé Reed. The weather forecast was for be extremely hot and humid all three days of the sale, but volunteers were undaunted, showing up each day and noticing that God broke the sweltering temperatures with occasional gentle, cooling breezes. Although there was only a small inventory of items to sell, the event also gave members an opportunity to work together and fellowship.
