CANADA—Eleven teens and adults arrived at the Lake Kelso Conservation Area to take on a challenging day of mountain biking on the morning of August 24.
All four teens and three of the adults cycled through the winding and densely forested course. Cyclists navigated towering inclines, rocky terrain, exposed tree roots, and steep downhill slopes as they took in cliff-side views from the top of Mount Kelso.
“The amazing views of the maple trees and cliffs kept me going the distance,” teen Tia Sankar said.
The group stopped to snack on fresh apples from a tree near the end of the trail, and then returned to a shady park at the base of the mountain for a picnic lunch.
Teen Zebdiyel Sankar described the trail as “very difficult, but it was fun going downhill.”
