President Donald Trump has repeatedly promised that America is entering a golden age of peace and prosperity. This prophesied temporary resurgence (2 Kings 14:26-27) is not a golden age but a final opportunity for physical and spiritual Israel to respond to a message from God Himself! This message is given to God’s apostle, shared with God’s Church, and dispensed to the rest of the world—a precious act of love from the Almighty God.
The entire world should revolve around this new revelation from God.
Where is your focus? Does your life revolve around revelation from God?
“Man’s biggest spiritual flaw has always been losing sight of God’s message!” Gerald Flurry wrote that epic warning in his first book, Malachi’s Message to God’s Church Today, at the start of the Church’s Laodicean crisis. What did the crisis revolve around? God’s people not loving the truth, not valuing this revelation from God (2 Thessalonians 2:10). Mr. Flurry continues: “This is God’s supreme test today to see if His people really ‘get it’ and truly love Him and His message.”
Malachi’s Message began a new golden age of revelation from God. After the death of Herbert W. Armstrong on Jan. 16, 1986, God stopped sending new revelation to His Church. Similar to the time of Samuel’s youth, there was no open vision (1 Samuel 3:1). This was a test of the Church’s love for the truth.
As true Christians, we must have the same attitude as Samuel, who “let none of his [God’s] words fall to the ground” (verse 19).
“We all need more of that attitude—to make it our goal to get every word as perfectly as possible,” writes Mr. Flurry. “… We are in God’s remnant Church because we didn’t let those words drop! But we must keep improving. After all, God is going to set the world upon our shoulders! We will need every word—every little bit of education God gives us. … Samuel knew what an opportunity he had. Do you?” (The Former Prophets—How to Become a King).
Do we see the golden opportunity God is giving us? Do we try not to let a golden word from God fall to the ground?
We must hear the message, focus on it, and bring every word into our lives!
For almost 40 years God has poured out new revelation on His servant Mr. Flurry in 70 books and booklets, countless Key of David programs and articles, which all complement and build on a lifetime of revelation through Mr. Armstrong. These two end-time apostles have been a tremendous blessing to us because they faithfully deliver a message from God’s throne room.
Zechariah 4 gives us an inspiring vision of this golden age we are living in. Verse 2 describes a golden lampstand, the same as Revelation 1:12-13, which pictures the seven eras of God’s Church. To the left and right of the lampstand are two olive trees, representing God the Father and Jesus Christ. This lampstand is the only light in this dark world! It is fueled by God’s Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).
Notice this vision of pure gold: “And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?” (verse 12). Golden lampstand. Golden pipes. Golden bowls. Golden oil.
This is a picture of how God’s message reaches us and how valuable it is. The golden oil comes from the two olive trees, the Father and Christ. The two olive branches are the “two anointed ones” (verse 14), which would better be translated “sons of oil.” That phrase refers to Mr. Armstrong and Mr. Flurry. Golden oil—new revelation—has been flowing out from God’s apostles!
We are living in the golden age of golden oil!
“God is trying to get us to see how rich and wonderful and precious all of this is to us,” Mr. Flurry stated in a Key of David broadcast. “I believe there is nothing in the Bible like these verses right here, because God is giving so much more new revelation to the last two eras” (July 8, 2022).
We truly have overflowed with golden oil! It is difficult to digest all the information in the books, magazines, broadcasts, podcasts and articles published by the Church. In times of plenty, it is natural to become complacent and indifferent to blessings. But we must always have a passion for and focus on golden oil!
This golden age of golden oil is our golden opportunity—an opportunity to do God’s Work and build godly character. Even our trials and tests are golden opportunities (1 Peter 1:7). Do we see this the way God does?
“[J]ust think about this opportunity that God has given us,” Mr. Flurry continued in that program. “Here we are, just really honored to be alive at this time and have the opportunity to receive this golden oil, which means it’s a golden hope. It’s golden truth that we need right now.”
Hold fast your focus and love for God’s golden oil. As this world becomes darker, we must burn brighter and use this golden age of golden oil to help usher in another golden age of God’s rule on Earth.
