EDMOND—The Herbert W. Armstrong College Choral Union performed the Song of Songs oratorio at Armstrong Auditorium on April 7. Song of Songs puts the words of the biblical book “Song of Solomon” to music. It portrays a husband calling back his wayward bride, symbolically representing God’s relationship with His people.

The performance featured a 60-voice choral group accompanied by a professional string orchestra and conducted by Armstrong College music instructor Mark Jenkins. Armstrong music director Ryan Malone composed the 33-movement work and sang the baritone solo; his wife, Paula, sang the soprano solo. The choir and orchestra put an estimated 6,000 or more man hours into the project.
