TEXAS—On the sunny afternoon of August 17, seven youth hosted a “Chat and Chew” for 18 seniors and 15 members of the Fort Worth congregation at deacon David Carpenter’s home. The theme of the evening was A Time to Remember.
Youth from age 12 to 17 arrived uniformly dressed and served guests soup and sandwiches for lunch. Teens became better acquainted with seniors through toastmaster-style interviews and an interactive presentation of fun facts about previous decades.
The highlight of the event was when seniors displayed photographs from their teenage years and shared memories and wisdom.
“What a great group of young persons we have here in Fort Worth,” senior Mary Lou Barron said.
Brothers Brett and Jonathan Roberts told their father they were impressed with how smoothly everything ran and how good the food was.
