Duplexes
Some of the first structures to be built on the Philadelphia Church of God campus north of Edmond were duplexes, completed in the summer of 2002. Conceived as housing for married students, the two units served as dormitories for single college students and for youth camp attendees. They underwent a month of renovations in the summer of 2008 to serve a new use: facilities for Imperial Academy, which opened in the autumn of 2008. The units include 12 middle school and high school classrooms, five elementary classrooms, three kitchens, two locker areas, an office and other spaces. Various repurposing and renovations have been necessitated, including the addition of a playground in 2009 and a sunroom in 2022. The playground, named Shannon Park after the late Shannon McLain, who volunteered at the school, includes play equipment and a basketball and four-square court. This autumn, Imperial Academy, which serves about 50 local students and more than 100 online students, enters its 18th academic year.
