ENGLAND—From May 22 through May 26, around 50 singles from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, the Bahamas, Malta and Nigeria explored castles, viewed biblical artifacts, braved high ropes, walked through World War II history and more at the first singles summer weekend hosted at Edstone Hall. The weekend was organized by alumnus Mihailo Zekic, and included visits to Stratford-upon-Avon, Henley-in-Arden, Oxford and Warwick Castle, as well as a progressive dinner with local brethren and activities at Edstone Hall.
Preaching Elder Colin Hercus gave a singles’ Bible study on May 24, which singles around the world not attending the event also watched. On the Sabbath, the singles heard a message from Preaching Elder and singles director Ryan Malone, as well as a prerecorded message from Pastor General Gerald Flurry. The weekend capped off on the evening of May 26 with a bonfire.
Edmond single Parker Campbell said the weekend was “such a blessing to attend. It felt like a miniature feast site, and the small groups made it possible to get acquainted with everyone. The activities were bonding and rewarding—all of them! The bonfire social was a very good way to conclude the rejuvenating and spiritually uplifting weekend. The whole experience really gave me a spiritual boost of morale.”
