ARKANSAS—The Philadelphia Church of God congregation in Central Arkansas made 204 flower arrangements and 10 hand bouquets for a Mother’s Day fundraiser.
The flowers were assembled on May 12 by a team of 11 ladies and five teenage boys. They made the hand bouquets using flowers leftover from the arrangements.
Member Caity Boren, who helped with arrangements, said, “The flower fundraiser was a wonderful opportunity to serve with our fellow brethren. The process was well thought out and organized. It really allowed us to give to the work and serve each other at the same time. The day was beautiful, and God opened doors and blessed our efforts.”
On the sunny morning of May 14, three teams gathered to transport, set up and sell the flowers. The efforts of children holding signs near the street and adults talking to passersby yielded many customers, and all arrangements were sold by 1 p.m.
The fundraiser brought in a profit of $6,209.72 for the Work of God. As the saying goes, many hands make light work.
