PHILIPPINES—On Sunday, December 4, sixteen members of the Philadelphia Church of God congregation in Bicol along with Local Elder Reniel Padua rode all-terrain vehicles for a family day at Quituinan Hill Ranch in Camalig, Albay, a hill looking over Mt. Mayon, a volcano world-renowned for its perfect cone.
The brethren rode the ATVs on the sloping hill of Quituinan, making three rounds each on the designated track. The weather in the morning was mild, and although there were rain showers in the afternoon, the members were already in a cottage for games that were prepared by member Jan Virgil Olayta.
Deacon Noel Valenzuela said that “It was a really memorable and an educational family day. We relished the beautiful scenery of magayon (“beautiful”) Mt. Mayon, the wide well-maintained green grass, the activities, ATV rides and the food” as well as “the warm unity of God’s people with Mr. Padua. I felt that God was with us that day.”
“The family day was awesome!” Bicol member Nolito Romero said. “The activities elicited fun and laughter among the brethren. The inspiring view of Mt. Mayon overlooking the venue enhanced Christian fellowship and appreciation on the beauty and wonder of God’s creation.”
Around mid-afternoon, the brethren parted ways with big smiles on their faces.
