Texans Hold a Picnic

TEXAS—On August 21, the Channelview congregation held its end-of-summer family picnic south of Houston at Hanson Riverside County Park.

With a full day of rain in the forecast, Regional Director Cal Culpepper told members to pray that God would intervene and hold off both the rain and the mosquitoes. It rained heavily in the morning as the men were setting up, but soon after the other members arrived, the rain stopped, and the mosquitos stayed away from the main area.

Members of the group fished, hiked, went bird watching, and played baseball, cornhole and horseshoes. As they ate, they could hear the sound of the river about 100 yards away as they shared stories, anticipated the upcoming fall holy days and talked about the future in God’s Family.
