KENYA—On May 8, five adults and two children from the Nairobi congregation of the Philadelphia Church of God held a Mothers Day fundraiser, selling flower bouquets, trays of eggs and avocados and raising almost $100.
Member David Kilonzo said it was pleasing for the group “to see the excitement and joy in all those who were involved.” His wife, Magdalene, said, “It was a successful day. I saw God’s miracles throughout the fundraiser, and despite the day being, hot we had incredible sales.”
Despite the flowers being affected by the high temperatures, all 30 bouquets were purchased. “The team spirit was great,” Maingi Kuria said, noting that the day was fun and the group had positive attitudes.
Virginia Kuria said they “give God the honor” for the sale, and members said they are looking forward to holding a similar event next year.
