FLORIDA—On October 31, members of the Dade City congregation held their annual yard sale fundraiser. They were asked to pray for perfect weather for the event ahead of time, and God blessed the activity with pleasant weather throughout.
Weeks prior, members had collected, priced and set aside items to offer for the sale. Items were collected after Sabbath the evening prior or brought directly to the sale the following day. One miracle that led to holding the fundraiser at this particular time was that the landlord of the building that the congregation uses for Sabbath services informed the minister that he was planning to donate outdoor and restaurant-style chairs and tables, and two pallets of brand-new clothing to the sale. The relationship with the landlord has been blessed over the years.
Setup began at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and was open to customers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Member volunteers participated energetically amid continuous movement of items and workers and hearty conversation. The fruits were measured, in part, by total sales for the day of $2,352.
