TEXAS—About 30 members from the Philadelphia Church of God San Antonio congregation enjoyed a summer picnic on August 22 at Landa Park in New Braunfels, a place filled with several bodies of water and with giant oak trees.
During a lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs and various side dishes, three local teens who attended the Summer Educational Program at Church headquarters in Edmond, Oklahoma, gave short speeches sharing their youth camp experiences and what they learned.
After lunch, youth and adults played several games, from “minute-to-win-it” contests to musical “hot potato” and a balloon stomp. Some also took a ride on the park’s miniature train that traverses the spacious 51-acre park.
Member Joe Villanueva said that the picnic was “a great opportunity for fellowship, and it was a great location surrounded by greenery and water.”
