EDMOND—More than 50 Philadelphia Church of God members, including students and faculty from Herbert W. Armstrong College and Imperial Academy students raced on September 6 during the eighth annual Swans in Flight 5k run. Participants started from the Swans in Flight sculpture at Armstrong Auditorium and wound through a 5-kilometer campus road course that led back to the starting line. Seth Malone, who was among the several college students who participated, said, “Every year I look forward to setting myself a higher goal and pushing myself to get better.” This year’s male and female winners were Imperial Academy students and siblings Noah and Ellie with times of 19:45 and 23:07. Faculty member Dennis Leap, who runs 6 to 10 races per year, said “Generally I am running with people I don’t know. The Swans in Flight 5k gives me the opportunity to run with my Church family members. It is a great opportunity for the HWAC faculty to do something fun with the students.”
