Very soon, Jesus Christ will return to Earth and establish His rule over the nations. As the almighty, loving and merciful King of kings, He will bring abundance and joy to all peoples!
This is a sure promise: “And he [God the Father] shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began” (Acts 3:20-21).
At one time, God’s government did rule on Earth. But Lucifer, who was to administer that government here, rebelled and brought destruction. He then seduced the first man and woman away from God, and for all human history he has swayed humankind in governing himself apart from and contrary to God.
The contrast between the beautiful results of God’s government and the wretched results of the governments of Satan’s world could not be more stark! Yet human nature, under Satan’s influence, rebels against and rejects God’s rule. Thankfully, this will change when Christ returns. The devil will be imprisoned, and his anti-God broadcasting will cease (Revelation 20:1-3). Men’s eyes will be opened to the glorious benefits of being ruled by God, and they will embrace it.
God yearns to restore His government to Earth. That is the most important aspect of this coming “restitution of all things.”
God is already in the closing stages of preparing this world for that wonderful moment. In these latter days, God began by sending a “messenger [who] shall prepare the way before me” (Malachi 3:1), an end-time type of “Elijah” (Malachi 4:5-6). This man would foreshadow the coming worldwide “restitution of all things” on a smaller scale: He would “restore all things” within the Church of God (Matthew 17:10-11). And foremost among what he would restore would be God’s government.
Herbert W. Armstrong fulfilled this pivotal prophecy. (You can read all about this in our free booklet A Pivotal Sign of the End Time.) God used him to accomplish a mighty work, and the spiritual fruits were richly abundant—wonderful evidence of his having the correct form of government and God blessing all of us for it.
Rebellion
After Mr. Armstrong’s death on Jan. 16, 1986, Satan was cast down to Earth (Revelation 12:9). The leading ministers in the Worldwide Church of God rapidly turned away from the truths Mr. Armstrong had restored. For clinging to his teachings, I was disfellowshiped in 1989, and began the Philadelphia Church of God. In the years that followed, other disgruntled ministers left the wcg—but rather than joining what God was building in the pcg, they formed their own groups. And their hostility toward God’s government quickly became apparent.
Those men altered truths they had been teaching for years. They said some terrible things about what Mr. Armstrong taught. High-rankingministers in these splinter groups made bizarre statements about God’s government. They began to talk about the virtues of democratic, “collegial” government. One minister said he was “experimenting” with another form of government. The man I had worked under in the ministry said he wasn’t exactly sure what kind of government he would have. It was nothing less than shocking!
How could something like this happen within God’s own Church? We had been taught astonishing, wonderful truths about God’s government by God’s end-time Elijah! Those ministers taught me the government of God—and that subject dazzled my mind! But then, they turned and rejected it, and when they started their own groups, they were led by their distorted reasoning into many ideas directly contrary to what God teaches about true government.
I was fired from the wcg because I clung to the government of God. I wasn’t going to change what God’s end-time Elijah had taught me all my adult life. Yet more than 95 percent of the ministry quickly changed to other forms of government! There is no excuse for men who sat at Mr. Armstrong’s feet to come away and deliver such confusion and deceit. They are part of the Laodicean Church era, which God says He will spew out of His mouth (Revelation 3:14-22). God warns that a large percentage of those men are going to lose their eternal lives!
In the early years of the pcg, one of the first booklets I wrote was God’s Family Government. It was intended to counteract all that confusion. We still make this booklet freely available, and I encourage you to get it and study it.
Mr. Armstrong taught that “government is everything.” When you understand this subject, you see why! At a 1972 Feast of Tabernacles in Spokane, Washington, Mr. Armstrong said, “Government is the most important issue to God and in His mind, and it should be in ours.” Is that true for you?
Mr. Armstrong also said, “Government is more important than anything!” Yet every Laodicean group has rejected it. They listened to Mr. Armstrong teach them for years! They may have taught what he taught until he died, but once he was removed, Satan took over. And they were too vulnerable to escape.
How grounded are you in God’s government? We must be deeply established in this basic subject. We need to become more and more committed to God’s family government. If we are not, then Satan can quickly exploit that, as he did with those wcg ministers. It is easy for us to let down if we are not careful.
This subject is even more important given the urgency of the time. Recently, God’s preparations for the restitution of His government on Earth intensified when He established the throne of David—upon which Christ will sit when He returns (Luke 1:32-33)—within His faithful remnant Church. (Please read The New Throne of David if you have not yet learned about this inspiring truth.) That makes it even more critical that our understanding be sound. Receiving that throne is an incredible honor. But God is also telling us we must elevate our understanding about His government—and our commitment to and love for it. After all, we are transitioning to the Second Coming, and this is the God Family throne. It is nearing the time when we will sit on that throne with Jesus Christ and help Him rule the world and save all humanity!
If you really understand this magnificent vision, you are thrilled to be a part of God’s family government. I believe that when God gave us the new throne of David, He knew He had to also teach us to understand God’s family government more deeply.
In recent months, I have been dealing with a problem in my right leg that has slowed me down somewhat. This has allowed me to take time to think more about God’s government. I can see areas where some Church members have, in a subtle way, tried to work around God’s government. Sometimes, that rebellion has resulted in some of the fiercest trials you can imagine!
I have seen more of this because I began to focus on it. And I am always required to tell you what I know God is showing me! If I see a problem, there is nothing more important for me to discuss than God’s family government. I caution you: If you start trying to maneuver around God’s government, or tweak or manipulate it in some way—even subtly or in small areas—you are headed in the wrong direction. You need to recognize that. You could be dangerously hindering your spiritual growth. We cannot afford to be casual about this.
We must not squirm away from God’s government—instead we should be finding every little way to uphold that government more perfectly.
Yes, we are all human; we all are weak. We all need to be learning this more deeply. But there is one area in which we must be grounded, and that is the family government of God! We have to learn to love God’s family government more. We must individually work to get this truth etched into our minds.
Laodicean-Style Government
One evangelist in the wcg, Rod Meredith, formed his own church and wrote a booklet about government. In it he wrote, “We don’t plan to change any big things, perhaps some small things as we grow in understanding.” Then he proceeded to change the family government of God—the biggest thing he could possibly change!
wcg ministers, many of them evangelists, cavalierly said God changed His form of government in the New Testament. Mr. Meredith wanted a “collegial” government. Webster’s defines collegial as “marked by power or authority vested equally in each of a number of colleagues; characterized by equal sharing of authority.” The government of God’s true Church is basically the opposite of that! Advocating collegial rule shows that Satan has really gotten a grip on those men! That idea isn’t just slightly off—it is losing-your-eternal-life off, if they don’t repent!
Mr. Meredith added, “Let’s try to do it right this time, as shepherds with a loving approach.” He was really saying, Let’s not do what Herbert W. Armstrong did—let’s have love this time. Many ministers criticized Mr. Armstrong for lacking “love.” Do they really know what love is? They aren’t talking about the law of God, which is the love of God (1 John 5:3). That is not his definition of love.
Matthew 17:10-11 say Mr. Armstrong restored all things. Government is at the top of that list. It’s easy to prove the truth from your Bible. These men restored nothing. I don’t know how someone could speak out in the way they have and still make it into the Kingdom of God. But God is their judge.
It seems men always want to take people for themselves and form their own group. God promises those ministers an exalted headquarters position forever if they will obey Him! But they would rather have their little group today. They lack the God Family vision, and they don’t believe in the God Family government.
“Government is the administration and enforcement of law by one in authority,” Mr. Armstrong wrote in Mystery of the Ages. “This necessitates authoritative leadership—one in command. When the only conscious Life-Beings existed, God was leader—in authoritative command. Thus, even when the only conscious Life-Beings were God and the Word, there was government, with God in supreme command.” That is the way it has been for all eternity. When Jesus Christ came to Earth, He made this fact plain by saying, “[M]y Father is greater than I” (John 14:28). Does that sound like collegial government? How could anyone read scriptures like this and think that?
In the World Tomorrow, we will have to teach people about God’s government and prove to them—backward and forward, up and down—that it is the one and only true government. Will someone who lauds the benefits of collegial government be ready to teach in the World Tomorrow about God’s government?
In the God Family, one rules at the top—God the Father. Christ will be the one and only King of kings when He rules in the World Tomorrow. That is the way God’s government works. And it always works, because the one at the top is perfect, and He is love.
In working with human beings, God follows that same pattern of government, even though men are flawed. He is teaching us how to function under the government structure that will exist for eternity. Thus, He has repeatedly used one man to govern His people: e.g. Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Zerubbabel, Peter, Paul (the one man governing the Gentile converts), John and so on. Mr. Armstrong proved this over and again.
Yet many Laodicean leaders have spoken about the “evils of one-man rule.”
In the end time, God raised up one man. Mr. Armstrong stated at that 1972 Feast: “God calls the Church to back up the apostle [speaking of himself] and get His message to the world.” Is that collegial government? That is God’s government, and it is everywhere in the Bible!
‘One Father’
The book of Malachi is strong condemnation of the ministers who rebelled against God and the Work He did through Mr. Armstrong. In Malachi 2:4-7, God talks about His “covenant with Levi,” speaking of the father of the priesthood, another prophetic role Mr. Armstrong fulfilled. The Laodiceans, however, “corrupted the covenant of Levi”—and caused people to “stumble at the law” (verse 8). “Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people,” God says (verse 9). Those Laodicean leaders were seeking great things and grandiose rewards. They collected their own followers and formed their own governments. What happened with those exciting new forms of rule? In every case, it is a disaster! The reality is, those men have become “contemptible and base”!
God then asks: “Have we not all one father?” (verse 10). That is a little f—it is referring to Levi. What a wonderful question. God tells us to look to Mr. Armstrong as our spiritual father.
Mr. Armstrong himself told the Church members, “You brethren today all were called directly or indirectly through me and the government of God doing the Work of God, and you are all my sons and daughters in Christ” (member letter; May 2, 1974).
He was speaking the same way that the Apostle Paul did: “… as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel” (1 Corinthians 4:14-15). Spiritually, Paul begat these people through the gospel, directly or indirectly. Mr. Armstrong said he did the same thing.
Mr. Armstrong wrote, “Did God raise up a one-man leadership to be used by Him in building this spiritual temple and in proclaiming after 1,900 years the true gospel of the Kingdom of God [or the Family of God] in all the world—to even go to kings and heads of nations …? Has this happened in your days, and has God brought you into this prophetic fulfillment as a part of it? Has anyone else done it?” (member letter; March 19, 1981). No one else ever did what Mr. Armstrong did.
Paul continued: “Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me” (verse 16). He’s telling the members that they are not to follow 10,000 instructors; they are to follow only him—period. Of course, you ought never follow anyone who isn’t following Christ; Paul himself said that (1 Corinthians 11:1). This is not a government of men. It is a government ruled by the great Creator God! If we don’t bring God’s government into our leadership, then people should not be following.
Still, Paul didn’t place himself on the same level as other men. And in the World Tomorrow, he is still going to be over a lot of people. Paul powerfully drove home the fact that he was in charge.
We are going to be kings and priests in a few years. How could we ever fulfill such a responsibility unless we had God’s government directing us and correcting us when we need it?
Paul was writing about government. Is there a new approach in the New Testament, as those rebellious ministers said? If the New Testament government talks about the evils of one-man rule, as the Laodiceans purport, then Paul made a mistake.
God is following this same pattern today. A prophecy in Isaiah 22 speaks of “Eliakim,” a spiritual office I hold: “And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah” (verse 21). The “inhabitants of Jerusalem” are the members of the Church, spiritual Jerusalem. Eliakim is also a father to the “house of Judah,” speaking of the Jews in the Middle Eastern nation of Israel. You can be certain that will be an intimate relationship. I believe we will have a lot of people involved in our Work in that nation. For someone to be a “father,” surely that would mean doing more intimate things there than anyone else. We have the honor to tell Judah, “Behold, your God!” (Isaiah 40:9). That is the greatest news that Judah, Israel and the whole world could ever hear!
God was giving new revelation to Paul. He gave new revelation to Mr. Armstrong. And He is giving it to me today. I’m not exalting myself. God is the one giving the revelation! I have written nearly 60 books and booklets, and most all of them contain new revelation. That is one-man rule. People are brought into this Church and begotten through what I have written and the new revelation that God gives me.
The Lawgiver
When God transferred the throne of David to this Church, He combined the scepter with the office of lawgiver (Genesis 49:10). The lawgiver is the one who administers God’s law.
The word lawgiver is a vision. A man is used as a lawgiver—but there is only one true Lawgiver: God the Father (James 4:12). The human lawgiver must always bring forth the real Lawgiver, or he is not doing his job.
Lawgiver contains the God Family vision, and it revolves around the Father. It’s about the Father creating sons who think as He thinks. We must keep that lawgiver vision in our minds or we will never be grounded in God’s government. We won’t learn and make changes as God wants us to.
With all the chaotic reasoning among the Laodiceans, how could any of them be a lawgiver for God? Those ministers never even mentioned the law of God in the context of their discussions on government structure.
“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end” (Luke 1:31-33). This is about God’s family government. It’s about the Son and the Father in the context of David’s throne. That is a God Family throne, which administers a God Family law.
We must be grounded in understanding the Father, the Son and what the new throne is all about. It is the gospel, the good news of the coming Kingdom, or Family, of God. This is such a visionary message! The sons of Zadok, God says, are going to rule at headquarters with Him and Jesus Christ forever (Ezekiel 40:46; 44:15-16). That reward should stun us! If members of the Philadelphia Church of God remain loyal to the throne of David to the end, they will attain that most exalted reward. It really does make a difference how we commit ourselves to God’s family government.
Converted firstfruits who learn this today will be lawgivers, helping Jesus Christ be the Lawgiver in every way they can. We must know how to give people the law!
When God gives the law, He always gives a lawgiver. Mr. Armstrong was a lawgiver. After mentioning the law in Malachi 4:4, God said He would send an end-time Elijah, a man who would implement the law and turn the hearts of the children to their fathers and vice versa. That Elijah would teach the God Family vision.
The Laodiceans reject Mr. Armstrong, the lawgiver, and the family vision.
Abundant Fruits!
Numbers 16 records the account of Korah establishing a rebellion against Moses, God’s man. Korah told Moses that he was taking too much on himself. He said the other men in the camp were just as holy and righteous—they too could lead, he thought. Moses tried to explain that he wasn’t promoting himself for selfish purposes; it was God who put him in charge. Yet Korah and his followers continued to rebel.
God then swallowed Korah and his family in an earthquake. That dramatic event got people’s attention. God was showing the Israelites where His government was.
Yet before long, the people started to murmur against Moses and Aaron again. They were squabbling and fighting against God’s government. God then told Moses to take a rod for each of the 12 tribes of Israel, and whichever one budded and bloomed the next morning would be the tribe that God wanted to lead.
“And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds” (Numbers 17:8). How impressive! Overnight this rod budded and brought forth fruit. There are real and abundant fruits that come from God’s government. This showed the people that God was using the tribe of Levi, led by Aaron, who submitted to Moses! God chose a man and used him over the ministry. He made very clear where His government was!
If you will let God, He will always show you where His government is. He has been doing that for over 80 years with Mr. Armstrong’s work and now ours.
God later instructed that this miraculous rod, symbolizing His government, be placed inside the ark of the covenant, along with the two tablets of the Ten Commandments and a pot of manna (Hebrews 9:4-5). That ark, which sat in the holy of holies, was a symbol of God’s throne. It is covered in gold, with the mercy seat on top. God’s mercy emanates from His throne. Those physical objects were a type of what exists in the third heaven, from where God rules—the holiest place in the universe! It is from there that God’s law comes and that God’s government emanates! That was true of the Old Covenant—and it is true of the New Covenant!
As part of the New Covenant, you have the opportunity to keep the law and follow God’s Word. God’s faithful Church today teaches the same law and administers the very same government that God administers in the holy of holies! We are imperfect human beings; only God is perfect. But we do have God’s government on Earth! And it comes out of the glorified holy of holies. This Church, God’s one true Church, makes the message from God’s throne room available to the world! What a blessing!
Jeremiah 1 is one of the most inspiring chapters in the Bible, especially in light of the new throne of David. In it, God commissioned Jeremiah: “See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant” (verse 10; Revised Standard Version). The Ferrar Fenton translation reads, “See! I have appointed you today over nations, and kingdoms; to pull up, and to break down, and to destroy, and to erase ….” Pull up, break down and destroy refer to the three overturns of that throne—then that throne was erased (this is all explained in The New Throne of David).
Then something spectacular happens: “Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it” (verses 11-12). This branch of an almond tree is about Jeremiah’s commission. First, that branch is bare, producing no fruit. Then suddenly, there is fruit—a new stone and new throne. This almond branch, once barren, began to produce fruit, just like Aaron’s rod.
All around us are divided governments. But with this throne, you have buds, blossoms, fruit and almonds—abundant spiritual fruit! We live in a perilous and gloomy time, and it can make us downtrodden, crestfallen and negative. But if we focus on the glorious fruits of God’s government, we will remain very positive! This new throne combines the scepter and the law of God: God’s government teaches the Ten Commandments. That stone pictures Jesus Christ and the throne that He will sit on forever. This Church was given a new throne as a transition into the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. What a spectacular, inspiring, wonderful message!
No other church on Earth knows anything about the new throne of David, but this Church knows. Why? Because we have God’s government! Jesus Christ gives us understanding as the Father directs. The government of this Church produces abundant fruit.
Here are five fruits of God’s government that show just how inspiring this aspect of God’s Kingdom is.
1. It Brings Unity to God’s People
This world is bitterly divided. In America, deepest hatred is embedded in its political parties. Britain faces a national schism over Brexit. How long can these two nations last? Their governments are crumbling. How will we ever solve that division? There is no way except with the government of God.
With God’s government, unity replaces division. In John 17, Christ prayed, “Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are” (verse 11). What a picture of unity! God the Father and Christ have always been one. And they want to share that oneness with as many as possible.
The Laodiceans are scattered across various groups and continue to splinter. Why? They don’t want government, and are not holding the head; therefore, they are not “knit together” (Colossians 2:19). They cannot be one as the Son and Father are.
If we are not one, something is wrong. We make mistakes, but we must be one—or we are in spiritual danger. With God’s government, we have that unity.
It is unique, in a world so filled with division, to have people who desire, work and struggle to remain unified. Nobody is forcing unity on us—we choose it because of this magnificent vision of the God Family government and how Christ will use it to save anyone who will accept it.
2. It Feeds Us Spiritual Food
Within the ark of the covenant was the Ten Commandments, which pictures God’s law; Aaron’s rod, which pictures God’s government; and a jar of manna, picturing God’s revelation, or spiritual food. When God’s government implements the law, then you are fed spiritual food.
Mr. Armstrong wrote over a hundred books and booklets. I have built on top of that, writing around 60 myself. If you go to the new revelation in those books and booklets, then you know where the government of God is.
The murmuring Jews did not believe Jesus was the Son of God. Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead” (John 6:47-49). That manna didn’t have everlasting life in it. If you don’t have spiritual bread, you will die.
“This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die,” Jesus continued (verse 50). This is the bread that the government of God provides. You live because you allow Jesus Christ to live in you. And that, at its heart, is the government of God. Christ Himself is governing us! We are saved by Him living in us. That is the manna we want to be eating, following Christ’s example in every possible way. Christ points us to His Father. We learn to think like God and love the government of God.
We can be spiritually fed in our individual lives and collectively as a Church when God speaks to us and teaches us. God speaks through His Son to this Church. He is the Head!
3. It Declares the Worst Suffering Ever and Eternal Hope
Jeremiah 1 contains both catastrophic news and great hope. God asks His people what they see. He gives a vision of the Holy Roman Empire, a united European superpower, that will attack three nations of Israel—the United States, Britain and the Jewish nation in the Middle East (Jeremiah 1:13-15). This attack is fast approaching. When it comes, those nations will fall together. This process is already starting.
God is telling those who have the new throne to proclaim this message! This is our job and our calling. We see the seething pot of a united Europe and we proclaim that warning to the world. Many only want to hear smooth things—they don’t want to hear about the collapse of nations. But this world’s future is not smooth! They must be warned.
Billions of people will die in the near future in the Great Tribulation and Day of the Lord because they won’t accept God’s government today. They want smooth things. They want somebody to preach deceit—whether in religion, education or politics. But with that comes the Great Tribulation, Day of the Lord, and manifold suffering like this world has never experienced.
Soon this world will learn about the inspiring fruits of God’s government. That government is filled with pure joy and wonder from beginning to end. This is the most wonderful message we could possibly deliver. What an honor to be able to deliver it from the Almighty God! We are the most blessed people on Earth to be a part of this Work!
4. It Builds God’s Family
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:5-6). Mr. Armstrong taught and enforced family government!
God told us to look to the end-time Elijah (verse 5). If you want to know the truth, then look to the man who restored the truth.
“The Kingdom of God starts with a family relationship,” Mr. Armstrong wrote in the August 1985 Good News. “First, the physical human families; second, the one compacted together Church; and finally, when the Church is changed to immortality, the God Family, which is the Kingdom of God!” And the Kingdom of the Family of God is going to administer the law of God.
Marriage and family are God-plane relationships. God doesn’t say to turn the children to their mothers. He says the family needs to look to the father! The physical family is like the God Family. God tells us a specific way He wants us to do it. The mother is in perfect alignment with her husband. She is 50 percent of his work, as Mr. Armstrong taught. Every part of the family is critical. But God put the father in charge; he leads the family and teaches the God Family government.
If we bring our marriages and families together the way God tells us to, they lead us right into the eternal Family! If you live the life God wants you to live, you are going to be thrilled forever. But if that doesn’t happen, then God will “come and smite the earth with a curse”! This is probably the most powerful condemnation in the Bible because it is talking about ministers, and those who follow them, losing their eternal lives! God is saying that if they don’t teach the message that brings the whole family together, then He will send an eternal curse! What a sobering message! Is God too austere here? We mustn’t be casual about statements like this. We should tremble at God’s government as it is taught from the Bible.
God tells us to remember the law He gave Moses at Sinai (verse 4). If children are turning to their fathers, and their parents are teaching them the law, then they will know God’s law of love. This is all about family; it’s a family vision. We have to be able to teach and live by God’s family government.
Here is another New Testament example of God’s government: 1 Timothy 3:1-4 say a minister must be “[o]ne that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity.” That is directly from God’s Word! It’s about the government of God and a beautiful way to direct the family. The world promotes a 50-50 relationship between husband and wife. God says the father must be in charge! If that man can’t do that, then he won’t be a minister of God. Because what business does a man who can’t lead his own family have trying to lead the Church? (verse 5). God is being very candid here!
God is trying to teach us the law and government that He will implement worldwide in the World Tomorrow. Apply that instruction and you will have a great marriage, great family, great freedom and great joy. You can have everything that is good!
5. With It, We Help Christ Regenerate the World and the Universe
Right now, the universe is groaning for the birth of the sons of God! (Romans 8:21-23). It is enslaved to the wreckage of Lucifer’s rebellion. God is eager to build and beautify the universe, making it blossom as a rose—and we get to help Him!
Peter asked Jesus Christ what position the 12 apostles would have during the Millennium. Jesus answered, “Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel” (Matthew 19:28). Regeneration is talking about a new civilization! It is going to start on Earth and then it will spread! Under the Father’s direction, we will help Christ regenerate the world and universe!
The wonderful fruits of God’s government produce that beauty. “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this” (Isaiah 9:7).
Set your mind on the inspiring fruits of God’s government! If you get the vision of the God Family in your mind, then you are going to fight for it. You will do whatever you can to bring this vision into reality. And what an inspiring, uplifting and hope-filled vision. It is what this hopeless world needs.
See this vision, and keep God’s family government. Elevate your understanding about His government—and your commitment to and love for it. We are so close to the time when Christ will return to take His place on the throne of David. God wants you to be there with Him. Uphold that throne, and God will give you a position of honor at His headquarters forever—sitting with Christ and helping Him rule the world and save humanity! What an unprecedented calling!
