EDMOND—Philadelphia Trumpet executive editor Stephen Flurry swung westward for personal appearance campaigns in Phoenix, Arizona, on July 14, Los Angeles, California, on July 15, and Sacramento, California, on July 16. The events drew 307 total Trumpet subscribers.
The Phoenix event came just under a year after Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry presented a campaign there in August 2018. This year’s event attracted 116 subscribers, including 52 who are not already members of the Philadelphia Church of God. A total of 22 non-members attended a follow-up Bible study on August 11.
“I felt like Mr. Flurry was talking straight to me, and I got the message: I need to act,” said a subscriber from Albuquerque, New Mexico. “He asked me if I had spoken to any of the ministers. No, I haven’t—but I will now. I will make an appointment. But it was well-worth the seven-and-a-half-hour drive.”
Los Angeles was also the site of a campaign last year by Mr. Gerald Flurry, in January. This time, 115 subscribers attended, including 44 non-members. The number of non-member attendees at the August 7 follow-up study was 17.
“It’s been really life-changing, life-altering in every way,” one attendee said, regarding following the work of the Church. “I feel happy all the time.”
At the Sacramento lecture the following day, 76 subscribers attended, including 43 non-members. Nine attended the follow-up study on August 4.
“If we’ll just act on God’s truth, it’s amazing how much support, help, power, and encouragement God will provide,” Mr. Stephen Flurry said in his Phoenix lecture. “He’s waiting for us.”
Mr. Flurry’s North American campaign tour continued in Toronto, Canada, on August 4, and Raleigh, North Carolina, on August 5.
Listen to Mr. Flurry discuss the Phoenix, Los Angeles and Sacramento campaigns on his July 17 and July 23 episodes of the Trumpet Daily Radio Show.
