Imperial Academy Students Compete in Oklahoma Music Olympics
Middle- and high-schoolers compete on the piano, violin, cello and flute

EDMOND—Seven students at Imperial Academy of Edmond represented their school at a state music competition February 5, two of whom won cash prizes. Pianists Zechariah Henderson, Ellie Hilliker and Micah Turgeon; violinists Zoe Hilliker and Ezekiel Malone; cellist Seth Malone and flutist Leah Hyde competed in their respective divisions of the annual Oklahoma Music Olympics. In the Gilliam contest for pianists in the eighth-grade and lower, eighth-grader Ellie Hilliker placed third. Tenth-grader Micah Turgeon placed third in the Meinders contest for high-school pianists. The competition takes place annually at Oklahoma City University and is hosted by the Oklahoma City Orchestra League.
