WISCONSIN—About 40 members of the Wisconsin congregation of the Philadelphia Church of God gathered for their annual summer picnic on the misty morning of August 28 at Devil’s Lake State Park, south of the Wisconsin Dells.

The day started with a cool overcast that lingered over the waters of the picturesque lake. Under a decorated picnic shelter, members “spoke often one to another” as others enjoyed lawn games with the children.

Lunch was followed by a fast-paced game of bingo contested by young and old alike for a bucket full of simple prizes. When the mist retreated and the sun came out, Associate Pastor Eric Anderson and a number of members set off to traverse the steep rocky bluffs of the renowned Balanced Rock.

Wisconsin native Nick Bush said, “I had a blast climbing to the top of the bluff.”
