EDMOND—About 30 preteens played together and stared at the stars on February 28 at a congregational children’s activity at the house of deacon Stephen Coats.
In the first game, two teams competed in a timed challenge, involving walking while balancing pennies on their shoes.
The children also blew up balloons and worked in pairs to run the balloon back and forth without using their hands. They secured the balloons between each other, using their heads, sides, stomachs or backs to keep the balloon off the ground.
Afterward, the children and their parents waited for the sun to set and the stars to come out above the field in the panoramic view from the Coats’s home. They tracked Jupiter through a telescope in the night sky.
