CANADA—Fourteen singles from the Edmonton and Calgary congregations of the Philadelphia Church of God, plus a visitor from South Africa, toured the Edmonton Heritage Festival on August 2.
The annual festival featured 62 pavilions representing more than 85 nations, cultures and ethnicities and is spread out over 168 acres.
Singles examined arts, crafts, clothing, music, dance and foods from more than 20 unique national, cultural and ethnic pavilions, including Cambodian, Caribbean, Chilean, Chinese, Egyptian, French, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indian, Indonesian, Irish, Israeli, Italian, Japanese, Kenyan, Korean, Polish, Scandinavian, Taiwanese, Thai, Turkish and Welsh.
“It was a lot of fun getting to try different ethnic foods, explore new cultures, and share in lots of great fellowship,” Calgary single Allison Price said.
“It was a perfect opportunity to fellowship with those of like mind and reflect on the family vision,” first time singles event attendee Ouida Byskal said.
Calgary single Sarah Gill said, “I would probably say that I had lots of fun trying different food from different cultures and hanging out with the Alberta singles.”
