CANADA—Members from the London and Milton congregations of the Philadelphia Church of God shopped at an auction and played old-fashioned games during the annual Milton picnic and auction on August 16 at the home of Canada Regional Director Fred Dattolo.
The event kicked off at 11:00 AM with a potluck picnic, followed by both a live and silent auction.
Member Jose Labao, who organized the auction, said it was, “Very entertaining. The silent auction was very enjoyable … last minute bids [came] in the last few seconds right to the deadline.” The auctions generated over $1,200 in funds for the congregational fund and a donation to the pcg headquarters building fund.
Teams “Abraham,” “Isaac” and “Jacob” challenged each other in the “Pan-pcg Games,” which included water-balloon volleyball, board walk, a water-sponge relay and more. During the entirety of the games, laughter from the participants and the onlookers filled the air.
Members were also invited to taste a variety of desserts as part of the pie-tasting contest.
To end the day, gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded for the best pies and “Pan-pcg Games” participants.
“We were blessed with the perfect weather to enjoy the activities without being too hot, allowing us to focus on fellowshipping and engaging in the auction and sporting activities with all our might.” member Laskey Hart said. “Everyone pitched in to make it a memorable day.”
