Texas Congregation Shares Carnival Themed Picnic
Activities included sour fruity shots, dart throwing, Putt-Putt and prizes

TEXAS—More than 40 Philadelphia Church of God members from Fort Worth attended the congregation’s annual picnic on May 3 at McPherson Park in Colleyville.

Laughter from children and adults echoed across the park as members played fairgrounds-themed games.

Each family created a carnival-style game or booth for the congregation to experience.

Fort Worth member Janet Adelstein said, “I think it was great, and the games were fun. I could see that everyone put a lot of work into all the games.”

After lunch, participants threw darts, tried Putt-Putt, tossed footballs, folded napkins, and took fruity sour shots. Participants earned tickets, which were traded in for prizes.

Local member Jeffrey Barge and teen Brett Roberts juiced fruits and vegetables, providing freshly made samples for participants.

“I think this was a lot more fun than a regular carnival because we didn’t have to pay for all the tickets,” local teen Adrienne Donato said.

Local teen Shelley Jones said, “It was fun, and there were a lot of really creative ideas.”
