ARKANSAS—Forty members from the Central and Northwest Arkansas congregations shared their annual spring/summer picnic on May 31 at Petit Jean Mountain State Park.

Temperatures were in the low 70s, unusually mild for May, with overcast skies. Local Elder Robert Brown and his wife said they were thankful that God held back the rain during the flooding season.

“We almost didn’t go because of the rain, but we prayed about it and went anyway and had an awesome beautiful day,” Central Arkansas member Socha Chadwick said. “It was also the best weather for hiking to the waterfall, which was raging this year.”

Activities included lively conversation, traditional barbecue food, table games, fort building, Frisbee and a hike to Cedar Falls.

Member Sherry Hensley said, “The picnic was a great opportunity to spend time with our Church family.”
