SOUTH AFRICA—On January 19, I was driving roughly 60 mph on the N-1 highway from Johannesburg toward Pretoria.
I was about to pass an 18-wheeler truck driving in the left-hand lane when a pickup truck driving at a very low speed swerved right in front of me to pass the same truck. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting it from behind. I could not swerve to my right or left, as there were vehicles on the right and the truck on the left.
My brakes locked, and the car started skidding to the left and right as I tried to keep the vehicle in my lane to avoid colliding with other cars. My car then flipped over onto its right side, hit the road and bounced back onto its wheels before coming to a standstill—all within the same lane.
The N-1 has five lanes in each direction and is an extremely busy highway, but God prevented my car from colliding with other vehicles and protected me, so none of the oncoming traffic hit my car. God performed a miracle in flipping the car right back onto its wheels and prevented it from going into a roll.
The Metro Police was on the scene in less than one minute and helped me push the car out of the way. Normally one has to wait quite a while for the police to arrive. I walked away with a broken hand and minor injuries.
We serve a merciful, great, all-powerful God and Father.
