AUSTRALIA—On the morning of July 2, 30 Philadelphia Church of God members gathered at the Hudson family home in Brisbane for a seniors’ “English Country Garden Morning Tea.” The group included 14 seniors, two ministers and their wives and families, four single ladies and six affectionately nicknamed “pre-seniors.”
Blessed with beautiful weather, the group gathered on the veranda overlooking the lake and sat at tables decorated with tablecloths, flowers and doilies. As everyone conversed together, the single ladies took tea and coffee orders. Everyone contributed to a delightful spread of food, including scones, tea sandwiches, a fruit platter and the much-loved Australian classic, lamingtons.
Local single Danielle Underwood, who arranged the event, said, “To see how excited all the seniors were to be there made the day so worth it!” Hours of laughter, conversation and uplifting fellowship were enjoyed by all.
