WASHINGTON—On April 19, the Philadelphia Church of God congregation in Centralia held a yard sale in the parking lot of the building where weekly Sabbath services are held. More than 20 members pitched in to help with setting up and selling items donated by Church members.
In the days leading up to the sale, the weather forecast was not favorable. Members were asked to pray for great weather and fantastic turnout. God answered both of these prayers. The weather was sunny and warm, and the turnout from shoppers was excellent. A steady flow of customers came through the sale for almost the entire day.
One member even donated some tasty treats from their bakery business, which also sold very well.
The day-long sale brought in $2,000, which exceeded members’ expectations. Regional Director Cal Culpepper said he was very pleased with the activity, as it was a great way for all the local brethren to serve and build family unity.
