CANADA—Philadelphia Church of God members in the Saskatoon area enjoyed two events in one weekend, a Sabbath evening barbecue on July 4 and a summer game social on July 5.

Young and old enjoyed playing relays and races of all sorts together. The day was topped off with a delicious barbecue, a dessert contest for presentation and taste, and one final game to end the afternoon with loads of laughter. Local Elder Ryan Friesen and his wife, Autumn, won the “duck race” with their duck, aptly nicknamed “The Winning Duck.”

Many had been praying about the weather, as it had been rainy, stormy and cool for most of the summer. God provided truly miraculous weather for both events, with many commenting that these were the two nicest days of the summer so far. The Sabbath evening was sunny and warm, with no wind and not many mosquitoes. Sunday was hot and sunny, with a slight breeze that kept everyone comfortable.
