WEST VIRGINIA—On August 9, more than 100 Philadelphia Church of God members from eastern Ohio, northwestern West Virginia and Buffalo, New York, gathered at the home of Regional Director Brian Davis and his wife, Gwen, for an annual family picnic on Sunday, following a special Sabbath.

Amid attractive landscaping and plenty of space in the Davis’s yard, members gathered, conversed, played games and swam in a pond. As some arrived, others were already grilling burgers and hotdogs, or pitching horseshoes and playing other games. After the meal, Mr. Davis took members out on hayrides with scenic views of the Ohio countryside.

Member Charity Nutting remarked that she appreciated the work that the Davises had put into the event and said, “The hayride is always fun for all ages.”

As evening approached and members began departing, several mentioned they were already looking forward to next year’s summer picnic.
