Manitoba Members Enjoy Family Picnic

CANADA—Thirteen members of the Philadelphia Church of God Manitoba congregation gathered together for fellowship and fun at St. Malo Provincial Park on July 13. A congregational picnic is held every summer, where brethren come with meat to grill and side dishes to share, ready to participate in outdoor activities and edifying conversations.

Over the past few weeks, the air quality in Manitoba had been quite low due to wildfires that had been occurring in the northern part of the province. For that reason, some events in the province had to be canceled. But God performed a miracle in providing mostly clear skies and even sufficient sunshine, which made for comfortable weather on the day of the picnic.

After a nice meal that was shared, the fellowship and fun continued. The popular choice of activity was mini golfing on an outdoor course, with eight participants divided into two groups: the men and the ladies. Meanwhile, paddle boats were open for others to use on the lake, an experience enjoyed by a member and his son.

Senior Margaret Friesen said she was happy she came, since she was not able to attend the last picnic. She also commented on how happy she is to be in God’s Church, saying it is beautiful to see everyone having fun and enjoying each other.

Another member, Joel Gagne, said the picnic is “a time when we sit and enjoy a meal together as family.”
