ARKANSAS—On March 12, with cold rain in the forecast, 24 members from the Philadelphia Church of God congregation in Arkansas showed up to member Paul Hensley’s land to cut and split fire wood to sell for a church fundraiser.
Hensley divided the job into five stages of work: clearing the limbs out of the way, cutting up the trunks of the tree with chainsaws, splitting larger logs, stacking logs on trucks and trailers and then taking it back to member Luke Chadwick’s home for selling.
Member Leah Carroll said, “This is one of my favorite kind of activities, where brethren, old and young, work side by side and learn from each other while accomplishing a goal.”
