FLORIDA—Sixty-five brethren from the Florida West and Georgia South congregations shared a family weekend on March 1-2.
Although billed as a “winter weekend,” and still during wintertime according to the calendar, the days were a sunny 75 degrees at the Tall Timbers Education Center located on the former Beadle plantation in rural Tallahassee, Fla. Adjacent to Lake Iamonia in the Red Hills Conservancy, the area provided a beautiful Millennial setting for Sabbath services.
Preaching Elder John Cocomise delivered a Bible study focusing on the foundation for building a spiritual family. After sharing dinner, the group had the opportunity to play board games or burn off calories on the dance floor.
On Sunday, 44 members attended a picnic and games day at the home of Pam Shirk in Cairo, Ga. They played volleyball, bocce ball, horseshoes and board games, and also went on a scavenger hunt.
