Edmond and Texas Members Get Together for Land-Locked Luau
Group trades winter wear for floral shirts and ukuleles.

TEXAS—Fifty-three Herbert W. Armstrong College students plus alumni and headquarters members traveled to Aledo for a Hawaiian-themed luau and dance on February 13, substituting floral shirts and sunglasses for winter coats and gloves.

“I loved the whole atmosphere of the night,” junior Jordan Ellis said. “It was incredible to see how many people participated in the night and the amount of brethren who contributed to providing food and a warm environment.”

Dozens competed in “Knights, Mounts and Cavaliers,” a freeze dance and the limbo, where many landed on their backs.

At the end of the night, Evangelist Wayne Turgeon thanked the Texas members for “making the night such a wonderful success” and the Edmond members and students for “making it a party.”
