PHILIPPINES—Eleven members from across three islands in the Visayan shared their first congregational activity on February 8 at Sunset Beach Resort in Iloilo.
The weather leading up to the event was less than ideal, but members prayed for good weather for the day of their outing, and the skies on the 8th were full of bright sunshine.
Local Elder Benedict Marquez organized a workout by the beach, after which members played the Talent Game, Uno and volleyball.
Members Gloria Gacer and Alberta Hofileña said that the Bible-based questions in the Talent Game stirred them to study more.
“My favorite part was the Talent Game. It challenged my memory, and I was primed to answer it,” senior Eva Daduya said with a chuckle. “I look forward to buying one at this year’s Feast of Tabernacles.”
After lunch, the group discussed plans for the spring holy days, and several members volunteered for assignments.
Member Esperanza Becera said the outing was the highlight of her year. “I’m looking forward to the spring holy days,” she said, “as we’ll be spending more time with our spiritual family, who we only see occasionally.”
Member Alberta Hofileña said with a wink, “I’m looking forward to our next outing. Maybe another one this year?”
