‘He That Has Seen Me’

Here is a statement from Jesus Christ that I have always marveled at. “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” (John 14:9).

Jesus Christ was so righteous that He said, If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father. What a statement! Oh, if we could all say that: “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father”!

That is love! Christ loved His Father more than you and I can even imagine. He said, I act just like Him. I do everything just like my Father. If He were down here on Earth, He would do what I’m doing, exactly the same way. Isn’t that amazing?

Jesus Christ wants to develop the love He had for His Father in each of us. Then, when we go out into the universe and people ask, “What are you doing?” we can say, “What you see done here is exactly what the Father would do.” This is a beautiful love that God has, and He wants us to inculcate it into our lives.

Parents feel great when their children emulate their good qualities. When they know their sons and daughters are behaving the right way, following in those good traits, and upholding the standards within the family, that brings a lot of joy to Mom and Dad. In this way, they are also honoring and expressing love to God.
